Learning A New Piano Piece

In this article we are going to give you a few tips on learning to play a new piece on your piano.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming when you learn a new piece. Sometimes there’s just so much going on with the left and right hand, it can be quite demoralizing to work it all out and be able to play the piece or music.

It can take a long time, and it may take awhile for you can play a piece at the quality you are aiming for.

So the best way to deal with the complexity of a new piece of music is to break it down into smaller parts, and master each element one at a time.

So with this in mind, here are a few tips:

Work with each hand separately. As you become a more advanced pianist, you may be able to play both hand parts straight away. But for most people, it’s easier to study the movement of one hand at a time, and then put the two together.

Another useful method for coping with a new piece is to isolate the different portions of the piece. Some parts of piece may be more difficult for you than others.

If you focus on the hard parts, by treating them like minim self contained exercises, you can master the movements involved much quicker… and then move on to the easier parts.
