The first thing you need to learn is how to clean the keys of your piano. You will need to use a special cleaning solution designed for pianos. If you use any other kind of commercial cleaning products, you can damage the keys (if they’re ivory, that is). Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface of the key. It goes without saying that you should only clean the top surface of the key. You don’t need to clean the sides. It’s best to avoid using any cleaning product on the sides, and simply dust over them. Depending on the keys of your piano, the color of the black keys may wipe off slightly while you’re cleaning them. If this is the case, you should use a different cloth for the white and black keys. |
